The Status of the University

September 11, 2008, Moscow 

The Decree of the President of the Russian Federation no. 1343 in order to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of peoples of the Russian Federation Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy was included in the State code of especially valuable objects of cultural heritage of peoples of the Russian Federation.

20 November 2009 

At the session of Council of heads of governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States made a decision on giving Russian state agrarian University - MTAA named after K.A.Timiryazev the status of a base organization of CIS countries on training, improving qualifications and retraining of personnel in the field of agricultural education.

14 April 2004

Moscow agricultural Academy named after K.A.Timiryazev was awarded the National prize of Peter Arkadyevich Stolypin «agrarian elite of Russia» in nomination «For preparation of personnel for agriculture». 

2007 

Russian state agrarian University - MTAA named after K.A.Timiryazev. became one of the 40 universities-winners of the Russian competition of innovation educational programs, held within the framework of the National priority project «Education».

July, 2011, Vienna 
  Master's program «Agroecological management and engineering» and «Biotechnology» passed international expert evaluation, the results of which confirmed that education programmes correspond to the standards of the Austrian Agency for quality assurance accreditation of educational programs.
7 February 2017
Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy was awarded a status of the Base Organization of the Ministry of Agriculture in charge of training, advanced training and professional retraining of agrarian professionals.
16 October, 2017

A Memorandum on Cooperation between RSAU-MTAA and FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN) was signed.

March, 2018

The structure of the university was changed and 3 institutes were formed: Institute of Economics and Management in Agro-Industrial Sector, which included former Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Economics and Finance; Institute of Amelioration, Water Management and Construction named after Alexey N. Kostyakov and Institute of Mechanics and Power Engineering named after Vasily P. Goryachkin.

October, 2020

The world-class Scientific Center «Agrotechnologies for Future» was established and is included in the list of world-class scientific centers that carry out research and development on the priorities of scientific and technological evolvement of the Russian Federation.

December, 2021

Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy became the winner/nominated within the framework of the state program of strategic academic leadership «Priority-2030», in the track «Research leadership». The supervisor of the «Priority 2030» project is the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia
